10 Minute Daily Challenge – Day 1

04/10/26 – Entry One

Sometimes the best words are the ones that have not been said.

Most of my words which are actually worth listening to are the ones that are in my head, not the ones that come out of my mouth. I have a million different thoughts but often not a lot to say.

So here is the challenge: 30 days of unfiltered writing. The rules are quite simple, set a timer for 10 minutes and write all the thoughts and ideas that come to your head freely. No filtering, no censorship, just thoughts. And, who knows, maybe something profound will come out of all of it at the end of the 30 days.

So let’s start with the basics. Hi, my name is Lena, I’m 26 years old and for most of my life I haven’t known who I am or where I was heading. I’ve moved location 5 times, changed university course 3 times and changed career path more times that I can actually count. The road has always been very unclear, however I have always found writing as a tool to help guide me through my ever changing course of direction. Whether it was a shockingly mediocre fan-fiction, poetry about my battling thoughts or a blog about my latest interest. Writing has always been a way for me to make sense of the map and path ahead.

However, lately my writing seems to have fallen rather flat. I could blame it on the mundanes of adult life, the serious job, the house, the chores. But, total transparency, it has been procrastination. Plain and simple. I have fallen victim to the trait of many 26 years olds in the fact that I spend way too much time doom-scrolling through my TikTok algorithm, rather than doing something that actually felt meaningful with my time.

That’s why I set myself this challenge, to provide purpose, clarity and a sense of passion to my life. Not just numbing my mind with the brief flashes of dopamine from a fast social media feed.

And with that my 10 minutes is up! It really wasn’t as long as I thought it would be. Will see you tomorrow!

Lena x
